American audio maker Sonos has launched the much-awaited Move 2 speaker that was leaked last month. It arrives as the successor to the original Sonos Move that debuted nearly four years ago in 2019. The Move 2 packs significant upgrades over its predecessor in various aspects including battery capacity, sound, and more. The latest offering is also the third portable speaker from the brand in its portfolio. Read on to know more about it below. 

Sonos Move 2 specifications and features

The Sonos Move 2 is a portable speaker that can be easily carried everywhere with the built-in handle. It is also ultra-durable and IP52-certified making it resistant to spills, splashes, rain, and dirt. The shock-absorbent materials are said to protect against drops. The Move 2 also blends in easily with the interiors of a home. The top surface of the speaker has touch-sensitive buttons with LED light for adjusting the volume and controlling music playback. There is also a physical switch to disable the microphone for security purposes.

In terms of audio, the Sonos Move 2 is equipped with two tweeters for stereo sound and a precision-turned woofer for delivering deep and dynamic bass. There is a Trueplay tunning feature that uses the speaker’s microphones to analyze and optimize the sound and offer the best listening experience based on the user’s surroundings. The audio device can also be paired with additional speakers for stereo sound output. The Sonos Move 2 can play content from any service including Spotify, Amazon Music, and more. Users can also control the speaker directly from connected supported apps. 

The Sonos Move 2 is compatible with Sonos Voice Control, Amazon Alexa, and AirPlay 2. It can also be connected to a turntable, computer, and any other audio source via a line-in adapter. The device also features Wi-Fi6 and Bluetooth 5. The Sonos Move 2 is powered by a removable 44Wh battery unit that is claimed to offer 24 hours of usage. 

The Sonos Move 2 is priced at $449 and is offered in Olive, White, and Black colors. It will be available globally starting September 20.
