Ultimate Ears (UE), best known for its custom-made in-ear headphones, also has a line of speakers named after the “Boom” suffix. The trend started in 2013 with their first “Boom” speaker, and since then all subsequent speakers have had “Boom” as a suffix in their name. This includes the Megaboom, Hyperboom, myBoom, and Wonderboom. The company has now launched another speaker called EpicBoom. So let’s talk about it here.

Ultimate Ears EpicBoom Specifications

The EpicBoom is a decently large speaker that is designed to be both portable and rugged. It features a recycled polyester mesh exterior, IP67 water and dust resistance, and a built-in strap for easy carrying.

Ultimate Ears EpicBoom Launched

The Epicboom is powered by a 4.6-inch woofer and two 1.5-inch active mid-high frequency transducers. UE promises booming 360° audio from the speaker, and it has a number of features that make it ideal for outdoor use. It has a wireless range of 55 meters, so you can take it with you to the beach or pool without worrying about losing the signal. It also has an advertised battery life of 17 hours, so you can enjoy your music all day long without having to worry about running out of power.

UE EpicBoom Connectivity

There’s also an Outdoor Boost button that loudens the sound when you’re outdoors. It also has an adaptive EQ function that adjusts the sound output based on the environment. You can easily connect your devices to the speaker using NFC pairing. The speaker is compatible with Spotify, Amazon Music, and other streaming services.

However, the Epicboom is not without its flaws. Most importantly, it doesn’t have any smart features. It doesn’t come with a built-in microphone so that you can use it for calls or to wake up your digital assistant. Additionally, it does not support WiFi connectivity either.

Price and Availability

The Epicboom is available in black or white, and it costs $349.99. It is a Bluetooth-only speaker, which is a bit expensive in this day and age. The Epicboom will be available at Best Buy, Amazon and other retailers starting from 22 September.
