Panasonic G9 Mark II Coming Soon with Major Upgrades

Panasonic has released a teaser video for a new camera, and all signs point to it being the G9 Mark II. The video features the letter “G”, which is used to denote Panasonic’s Micro Four Thirds cameras, as well as the phrase “NEW PHASE”, which suggests that the camera will have phase detection autofocus. This is a significant upgrade over the original G9, which only had contrast detection autofocus.

The video also shows a lens mount and sensor, which further confirms that the camera will be a Micro Four Thirds model. This is good news for photographers who want the portability and flexibility of a mirrorless camera, but don’t want to sacrifice image quality. The G9 Mark II is expected to be announced on September 12, 2023. It is rumored to have a 20.3MP Micro Four Thirds sensor, a 4K60 video recording capability, and a weather-sealed body. It is also expected to have improved autofocus performance, thanks to the addition of phase detection autofocus.

We will have to wait until September 12th to find out more about the camera, but it is shaping up to be a very exciting release.
