According to a recent announcement, Microsoft is gearing up to launch an Xbox Mastercard in September. This new Mastercard (with no annual fee) is launching in partnership with Barclays US Consumer Bank (a leading cobranded credit card issuer in the United States).

Xbox Mastercard

The Xbox Mastercard credit card is an attempt by Microsoft to provide the community with a better value for their money. With this credit card, players can earn points whenever they make purchases. These card points can later be used to redeem games and add-ons at xbox.com. It is worth mentioning that the Xbox Mastercard will be available exclusively to Xbox insiders in the United States on September 21. We can expect that the company plans to extend these benefits to a broader audience in 2024.

With the Xbox Mastercard, players can earn card points for every $1 spent on purchasing, including Streaming services ( like Netflix and Disney+) and Dining Delivery services (Like Grubhub and DoorDash). The cardmembers will receive more benefits on their first purchase, which are provided below.

  • A bonus of 5,000 card points (a $50 value) after their first purchase.
  • Three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for new Game Pass members after their first purchase. If they’re already a Game Pass member, they can easily gift it to a friend to play together.
  • Choice of one of five iconic designs for their card, with the option of personalizing it with their Gamertag.
  • Flexibility of use with contactless payments and digital wallets.
  • Free online access to cardmembers’ FICO Credit Scores allows users to keep an eye on their credit scores and receive alerts when their score has changed.
  • $0 Fraud Liability protection, so cardmembers are not responsible for charges they didn’t authorize.

Those who would like to join the Xbox Insider Program and enjoy these benefits can start downloading the Xbox Insider Hub app on PC or Xbox. Alternatively, players can go to the Xbox Insider FAQ page to learn more about this program.
