Oppo has just launched the new A2 Pro smartphone in its home market of China. The company’s new device is a mid-range handset which features some notable specs and features. So here are all the details.

Oppo A2 Pro: Design & Display

Despite being a mid range smartphone, the A2 Pro from the Chinese tech giant features a leather back panel for one variant. The more affordable version features a hybrid material. On the back, a large camera island houses the image sensors and LED flash. The regular version measures 7.99mm in thickness and 183 grams in weight. Meanwhile, the leather variant weighs 185 grams and is 8.04mm thick. Notably, the device features a dedicated anti-fall structure for better endurance.

This makes the corners of the device thicker and stronger to help the smartphone survive falls. On the other hand, the front features a center-aligned punch hole cutout. The Oppo A2 Pro sports a tall 6.7-inch curved OLED display that offers 120Hz refresh rate, 920 nits of peak brightness, 240Hz touch sampling rate, Full HD+ resolution, and 1.07 billion colors. This screen also offers 2160Hz PWM dimming, improved eye protection, 100 percent DCI P3 color gamut, and narrow bezels.

Under the hood, the A2 Pro model is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC that is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. A large 5,000mAh battery pack powers this device, which features 67W fast charging. The rear packs a dual camera setup that consists of a 64-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel portrait sensor. The 64MP camera features a six element lens, autofocus, and can record up to 4K at 30fps.

On the front, the smartphone houses an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. Other notable features include virtual RAM expansion up to 12GB, IP54 water and dust resistance, under display fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 6, and Android 13 OS based ColorOS 13.1 out of the box.

Pricing & Availability

The Oppo A2 Pro was announced in multiple color options, which include Vast Black, Desert Brown (Leather), and Twilight (Pink) variants. It has a starting price tag of 1,799 Yuan (roughly 250 US Dollars) for the 8GB + 256GB variant, while the 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB models cost 1,999 Yuan (roughly 275 US Dollars) and 2,399 Yuan (roughly 330 US Dollars) respectively. The smartphone is currently available for pre-orders, with first sales kicking off in China on September 22.
