Huawei’s launch event today in China saw the arrival of many devices including the MatePad Pro tablet, FreeBuds Pro 3 TWS earphones, Watch Ultimate Gold Edition, and more. The brand also launched a flagship smart TV called the Smart Screen V5 Pro. It is the first television to be powered by the company’s Honghu 900 chipset that was also announced today. In this post, we will learn about this new processor. 

Huawei Honghu 900 chipset announced

The Huawei Honghu 900 processor is touted to be 200 percent more powerful in CPU performance than the Honghu 818. It is also said to have an 81 percent higher performance than the industry flagship. The Honghu 900 has a 160 percent higher GPU and a 212 percent higher NPU performance compared to its predecessor. The chipset is equipped with 4T + 1T dual NPU and high-end AI computing. 

The Honghu 900 chipset is capable of upscaling 1080p quality into 4K resolution at 120 fps in a matter of 0.88 seconds. The processor also supports 8K resolution at 120fps decoding. It offers advanced features like scene recognition, subject recognition, AI SR, AI HDR, and more. 

As for the Huawei Smart Screen V5 Pro, it is offered in 98 and 85 inches with a Super MiniLED display and a 99 percent screen-to-body ratio. The television has 6GB RAM onboard and 64GB storage.
