We finally have a launch date of the OnePlus Open! After countless leaks and rumors over several months, the company’s President and COO Kinder Liu has revealed the launch date of its first-ever foldable phone in an exclusive interview with The Verge. As rumored, the OnePlus Open is indeed debuting later this month, more specifically next week. Earlier today, OnePlus’s sister-company OPPO also revealed that it will unveil the Find N3 series foldables on October 19th.

OnePlus Open launch date announced

OnePlus President Kinder Liu revealed that OnePlus will announce the OnePlus Open on October 19th. The launch event is set to take place in Mumbai at 7:30 pm IST (4 pm CEST and 10 am EDT). The executive says that the upcoming offering will ‘bring the foldable experience to new heights’ He added that OnePlus has spent two years researching and developing prototypes but due to technical hurdles, the launch was delayed.

Additionally, the OnePlus Open is already confirmed to be the same as the OPPO Find N3 that is set to debut on the same day in Singapore at 14:30 GMT. This is because OPPO’s book-style Find N foldables have been limited to the Chinese market.

The image shared by the publication also gives us a glimpse at the OnePlus Open. It confirms the presence of a three-stage alert slider along with a boxy form factor. From the frame of the device, it seems that the foldable phone will arrive in a Green color option. Liu also added in the interview that OnePlus wants to deliver an all-around flagship foldable experience without any compromises.

We should learn about the OnePlus Open next Thursday. The leaked renders of the OnePlus Open can be found here, and for the core specifications head here
