Samsung has announced a new 25W charger with a slimmer and more compact design. The charger uses GaN (Gallium Nitride) material, which is smaller and more efficient than traditional silicon-based chargers. This makes the new charger lighter and more portable, while still offering the same fast charging speeds.
The charger also supports USB PD 3.0 fast charging protocol, complete with PPS. This means that it can be used to fast charge a wide range of devices, including smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
In addition to its slimmer design and faster charging speeds, the charger is also more power-efficient than Samsung’s previous 25W charger. According to Samsung, the new charger consumes just 5mW in an idle state, compared to 20mW of the older model. This means that the new charger will waste less power when it is not in use.
The new charger is also made using recycled plastic, making it a more sustainable option than traditional chargers.
The new 25W Fast Charger is currently only available in South Korea, but Samsung is expected to launch it in other markets soon. It is priced at KRW 25,300 ($19) for the charger alone, or KRW 33,000 ($24) for the charger with a bundled USB Type-C to USB Type-C charging cable.
