Addressing this challenge head-on, the Coalition for Cyclist Safety has set its sights on introducing Vulnerable Road User (VRU) connected technologies. Brands like Audi, Bosch, and Shimano view this as a potential game-changer in saving lives.
Looking ahead, Audi envisions a future where as many as 5.3 million US vehicles will be equipped with V2X by 2025. The scope of this technology is set to expand further, encompassing communication with pedestrian crossings, school zones, and even buses by 2030. In the words of Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems, the success of V2X hinges on a united approach. He emphasizes the need for cross-industry collaboration to ensure that all road users can reap the benefits of this transformative technology.
