Samsung is reportedly working on the next-generation smartphones under its Galaxy M-series. The devices under this lineup often range from budget to mid-range offerings. Now, the first smartphone from the upcoming Galaxy M-series has surfaced on a benchmarking platform. It is the Galaxy M55 5G and the Geekbench listing is also the first spotting of the device. The Galaxy M55 5G is expected to arrive as the successor to last year’s M54 5G.

Samsung Galaxy M55 5G surfaces on Geekbench

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G carries a model number SM-M556B on the Geekbench 4 database. The listing mentions a motherboard codenamed ‘taro’ with eight cores and a base frequency of 1.80GHz. It’s evident that this corresponds to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. The upcoming smartphone will pack 8GB RAM onboard and we can expect more options at launch. The device will ship with pre-installed Android 14 OS as per the database.

In the Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core test results, the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G scored 3,575, and 11,330 points respectively. The benchmarking listing does not reveal any additional information. We can expect the device to bag more certifications and surface online in the coming weeks.

This is everything we know about the Galaxy M55 5G at the moment. To jog your memory, the smartphone’s predecessor has a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display. It is powered by an Exynos 1380 SoC coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The M54 5G features 108MP triple rear cameras and a 32MP front snapper. It is backed by a massive 6,000mAh battery cell with support for 25W fast charging.
