Xiaomi’s Product Director, Wang Teng Thomas, reported today on Weibo that the launch event for the upcoming Redmi K70 Pro is scheduled for November 29, marking the 10th anniversary of Redmi. We are just hours away from the official release at this point.

A claim for 4000 nits peak brightness with additional eye-care solutions built in

Redmi K70 Pro

The Redmi K70 Pro display features a ‘second-generation 2K screen’ manufactured by TCL, supporting a whopping 4000 nits peak brightness. The screen brings comprehensive upgrades in several factors such as colors, touch sampling rate, and, more importantly, includes built-in eye-care solutions.

To implement this, Redmi has collaborated with eye hospitals to create eye care solutions and promote the comprehensive evolution of eye care standards under medical guidance.

The screen boasts a second-generation C8 display panel from TCL, which reportedly offers low power requirements for a given brightness, making the 4000nit rating possible. However, it remains to be seen whether this 4000 nits brightness applies to the entire panel or only a smaller portion of it. For reference, the Xiaomi 14 achieves a peak brightness of 2800 nits but only in a 10% window of HDR video under bright light.

Returning to the K70 Pro, it also offers a 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, which is rare in a 2K panel. The phone comes with a triple camera setup with a 50MP main and a 2x telephoto lens. The main camera also supports OIS stabilization.

The phone comes in a pure white ‘clear snow’ color. It adopts a flat design with a glossy aluminum frame and a glass back.

The Redmi K70 series includes three models:

@UniverseIce revealed yesterday that the entire series comes with a 12GB RAM option as the base compared to 8GB variants of the previous models.
