Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset in October this year. Xiaomi is the only rebrand to have launched three phones featuring the new chip, namely, the Xiaomi 14, 14 Pro and the Redmi K70 Pro. It appears that the Nubia will become the brand to launch three Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phones. It recently unveiled the Red Magic 9 Pro and Red Magic 9 Pro gaming phones featuring the SD8G3 chip. A new development reveals that the Nubia Z60 Ultra equipped with the same chip will debut in December.

The above posters confirm that the Nubia Z60 Ultra will be unveiled in December 2023. The company did not reveal anything else about the device. It is also said to be working on another model named the Nubai Z50 SE, which may feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It is likely that the Nubia Z50 SE may debut along with the Z60 Ultra.

Coming to the Z60 Ultra, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered smartphone will arrive with a 1.5K OLED screen featuring an in-screen front-facing camera. It could be equipped with a 16-megapixel selfie camera like the Red Magic 9 series.

The device is likely to pack a 6,000mAh battery and 80W fast charging. Its rear camera setup may comprise a 50-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 1/1.55-inch sensor and a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera with a 1/2-inch sensor.

The device was spotted with model number NX721J on Geekbench in October. It may arrive with 12 GB of RAM and Mi OS-based Android 14. In related news, Nubia is also said to be working on its first foldable phone, the Nubia Z60 Fold featuring the SD8G3. It is likely to launch in Q1 2023.
