Oppo has introduced ColorOS 14, the brand’s newest operating system built on Android 14. While the update has been rapidly reaching devices in China, the global rollout has been more gradual. Notably, Oppo has recently initiated the rollout of the Oppo Find X5, a device initially launched in February 2022.
The official Android 14 x ColorOS 14 for Oppo Find X5 is now available for users in France and Egypt. However, the update is available on an apply-only basis. How to apply:
To apply for the Oppo Find X5 Android 14 x ColorOS 14 update, follow these simple steps. First, navigate to the “Settings” on your device and select “About device.” Next, tap on the top of the page and locate the icon in the upper right corner. From there, choose “Trial versions,” followed by “Official version,” and finally, select “Apply Now.” In the second step, proceed to detect the update and initiate the download by selecting “Download Now.” Upon completion, you will promptly receive the updated version for your Oppo Find X5.
Before proceeding with the update, it’s crucial to consider a few key points. Firstly, ensure you back up essential personal data to prevent potential loss during the update due to incompatibility or unexpected issues.
Following the update, the Operating System will undertake various optimizations automatically, which might result in temporary device heating, lagging, and accelerated battery drainage. To address this, it is recommended to turn off the screen and charge the device overnight post-update, or simply continue using the device – normal performance should resume within a few days.
It’s worth noting that some third-party applications may not be compatible with the Android 14 update. This could lead to their unavailability or technical issues, such as lagging and crashing on your device. To mitigate this, consider updating these applications to the latest version available in the App Market after completing the device update.
