Xiaomi launched the Redmi 13C series in India earlier this month. The lineup includes two devices, a 4G model and a 5G variant

Both these phones went on sale for the first time last week. Following that, the company has today announced the number of units it sold.

Redmi 13C series’ first sale record ties with Redmi 12 series

According to Xiaomi India, it sold over 3,00,000 units of Redmi 13C series smartphones on their initial days of sale. The company claims ‘internal data’ as the source and doesn’t specify separate numbers for the two variants.

The Redmi 13C’s first sale took place on December 12 (Tuesday). It was later followed by the inaugural sale of Redmi 13C 5G on December 16 (Saturday). Both products were sold via Mi.com, Amazon India, and Xiaomi retail stores.

It is worth noting that even the Redmi 12 series reached the same amount of units sold on their initial days of sale. The Redmi 12 5G also became the highest-selling 5G smartphone on the first day of sale on Amazon India.

Within a month, the Redmi 12 series hit over a million units in sales as well. Only time will tell whether Xiaomi will be able to replicate the same with the Redmi 13C series.

In terms of specs, the Redmi 13C and Redmi 13C 5G are almost identical with a few differences. The 4G model comes with a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, eMMC 5.1 storage, a 2MP macro snapper, and an 8MP selfie camera. Whereas, the 5G variant arrives with a MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus chip, UFS 2.2 storage, no useful secondary camera, and a 5MP front-facing camera.

Both handsets come with a 6.74-inch HD+ 90Hz display, Corning Gorilla Glass protection, a flat frame design, a 50MP primary camera,  a 3.5mm headphone jack, a MicroSD card slot, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C, a 5,000mAh battery, and 18W charging support.
