Just a few days after receiving several bug fixes via a new firmware update based on OxygenOS 13, the company is rolling out OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 1 for the OnePlus Open. Interested users can participate in the program and enjoy the new features and improvements before other users. Along with the new features, there are some issues that users should know about before availing of the update.

OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 1 for OnePlus Open Features

OxygenOS 14 comes with several new enhancements, including the new File Dock feature, Content Extraction features, and Smart Cutout. The latest build even establishes improved cross-device connectivity, enhanced security and privacy, and much more. Below is the official changelog for the update:

Smart efficiency

 • Adds File Dock, where you can drag and drop to transfer content between apps and devices.

 • Adds Content Extraction, a feature that can recognise and extract text and images from the screen with one tap.

 • Adds Smart Cutout, a feature that can separate multiple subjects in a photo from the background for copying or sharing.

Cross-device connectivity

 • Improves Shelf by adding more widget recommendations.

Security and privacy

 • Improves photo and video-related permission management for safer access by apps.

Performance optimization

 • Improves system stability, the launch speed of apps and the smoothness of animations.

Aquamorphic Design

 • Upgrades Aquamorphic Design with a natural, gentle and clearer colour style for a more comfortable colour experience.

 • Adds Aquamorphic-themed ringtones and revamps the system notification sounds.  • Improves system animations by making them even smoother.

User Care

 • Adds a carbon tracking AOD that visualises the carbon emissions you avoid by walking instead of driving.

Steps to Get OxygenOS Open Beta 1 for OnePlus Open

There are certain prerequisites that you must know before opting for Open Beta 1.

  1. Update your device to the latest OxygenOS 13 firmware (CPH2551_13.2.0.203 (EX01)).
  2. Make sure your device has at least 30% battery life and 4GB of free storage.

Steps:

  1. Open Device Settings and then go to About Device > Tap up to date > Tap icon on the top right > Beta program > Follow the steps to apply.
  2. Wait for a few days for OnePlsu to respond to your applications.
  3. After you get reviewed successfully, head over to Settings > About Device > Download Now to update.

The OxygenOS 14 stable update is now not so far for the OnePlus Open. It may take a couple of weeks for the stable to arrive from now on.
