Sony launched the PS5 Slim in October last year. It was only available in the White color option. Now, just a few months later, the Japanese brand has announced three new colors of the latest console at the CES 2024. They are essentially side plates that can be purchased separately.

Sony PS5 Slim gets new color options

Sony has introduced the PS5 Sllim in Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver color options. These are a part of the Deep Earth collection which is the same as the original PS5 console. The DualSense controllers also match the console’s colors. The new side plates have an all-matte finish instead of the glossy and matte on the standard White color option. The colors are quite vibrant and the Sterling Silver option evokes the original PlayStation’s nostalgia giving a throwback for all PlayStation fans.

The newly announced side plates are priced at $54.99 and can be purchased separately. Users who already own the console can change the side plates. Sony says that the new colors will go on sale soon. Additionally, an all-matte Black side plate will also be released soon. It’s worth noting that the Deep Earth collection is limited to the disc version of the PS5 Slim.

The Sony PS5 Slim is a slimmer and thinner version of the standard PS5 with a detachable disc drive. The storage is also bumped up to 1TB and there is a second USB-C port on the front. However, the latest console packs the same hardware power.
