Xiaomi has finally announced its most awaited flagship Xiaomi 14 Ultra at an event in China alongside Pad 6S Pro. Let’s check out the specifications of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra features a 6.73-inch 2K OLED C8 LTPO display with a resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels, providing a peak brightness of 3000 nits and a pixel density of 522 PPI. It offers a wide color gamut (P3) and supports HDR formats like Dolby Vision and HDR Vivid. The display boasts adaptive refresh rates ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz and utilizes 12-bit color depth technology. It incorporates advanced features such as instant touch sampling and professional color calibration, ensuring high-quality visuals. Additionally, the display is certified by TÜV Rheinland for eye protection and features a triple certification for reliability.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra boasts a classic three-stage design with a fully enclosed metal mid-frame, measuring 9.2mm thick and weighing 224.4g for the plain leather version. It introduces the “Xiaomi Dragon Armor Architecture,” featuring a high-strength aluminum alloy frame and Dragon Crystal Glass, claiming superior anti-bending performance and increased drop resistance compared to the iPhone. Additionally, the device features a fully equal deep micro-curve screen design, aiming to combine the appearance of a straight screen with the tactile feel of a curved one.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor featuring a 4000mm² liquid cooling chamber for better thermal management. It offers three storage variants: 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, 16GB RAM with 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM with 1TB storage (LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0). The device runs on Android 14-based HyperOS.

In terms of camera, 14 Ultra is equipped with a quad-camera system all with Leica Summilux lens, including a Sony LYT-900 1-inch 50MP main camera with OIS and an f/1.63-f/4.0 infinitely variable aperture, featuring ADL ultra-low reflection coating. It also features a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/1.8 aperture and ADL ultra-low reflection coating. Compared to the IMX989, the LYT-900 sensor reduces power consumption by 43% and achieves a native dynamic range of 14EV, 9.5 times that of the IMX989, preserving rich details in both highlights and shadows. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s comprehensive light intake is 205% greater than that of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, making it the industry leader in one-inch sensor light intake.

Additionally, there’s a 50MP portrait telephoto camera with OIS, an f/1.8 aperture, and 3.2X magnification, as well as a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS, an f/2.5 aperture, and 5X magnification. For selfies, it sports a 32MP front-facing camera.

Xiaomi introduces AISP, the first AI large model computational photography platform, with features like ULTRA SNAP for quick captures, ULTRA RAW for high-quality raw images, and ULTRA ZOOM for advanced zoom capabilities. It boasts 30X AI super zoom, 4K video recording at 120fps (main camera), and full-focus 8K video capture across all focal lengths. The device also supports high-frame-rate slow-motion recording and comes with a professional photography suite, including Leica’s full experience and customization options. Additionally, it incorporates Leica’s signature styles and native dual-lens beauty for comprehensive photography experiences, including nightscapes.

The device also introduces Xiaomi’s dual satellite communication, superior connectivity with high-performance antennas for direct satellite connection, supporting real-time voice and two-way texting. It incorporates Xiaomi’s own signal enhancement chip, the Surge T1.

The device features an in-display fingerprint sensor and an infrared sensor for enhanced security and functionality. For audio, it supports USB Type-C audio, Hi-Res audio, and is equipped with stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos for an immersive sound experience. Additionally, it includes a 4-microphone array for clear audio capture. The phone is also designed to be dust and waterproof, boasting an IP68 rating for durability against environmental elements.

The device boasts a 5300mAh battery capacity within the device itself with 90W turbo wired fast charging and 50W turbo wireless fast charging, and when paired with an additional camera grip, it increases to 6800mAh.

Pricing and Availability

Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes in Black and White, alongside the reintroduction of the Blue ceramic version called Dragon Crystal Blue. Xiaomi explains that in the past two generations, flagship phones omitted ceramic back covers due to weight concerns. However, with the introduction of the new Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Ceramic, which is claimed to be “50% lighter than traditional ceramics,” the ceramic back cover makes a comeback on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

Pre-sales have started, with the standard version going on sale on February 27th at 10 AM, and a Titanium Metal Special Edition available from March 12th at 10 AM. Pricing starts at 6499 Yuan ($904) for the 12GB + 256GB model, 6999 Yuan ($973) for the 16GB+512GB model, 7799 Yuan ($1084) for the 16GB + 1TB model, and 8799 Yuan ($1223) for the 16GB + 1TB titanium metal special edition. The device will be available across all channels: Xiaomi’s online store, Xiaomi Home, Xiaomi Youpin, major authorized e-commerce platforms, and authorized retailers, with support for 12-month interest-free installments.
