Oppo has confirmed that it will announce the OPPO Watch X running on WearOS, which will launch on February 29th in Malaysia. As shown in the image below, it will be the company’s first smartwatch with a round dial, deviating from the square design of its previous models. It appears that it could be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Watch 2, which is scheduled to debut on Feb. 26v at the MWC 2024 tech event.

OPPO Watch X SIRIM certifed
OnePlus Watch 2 BIS certified

The OPPO Watch X, with model number OWWE231, was spotted in Malaysia’s SRIM certification database in November 2023. Coincidentally, the OnePlus Watch 2, identified with a similar model number of OPWWE231, was observed in India’s certification database in October 2023. This suggests that the OPPO Watch X and OnePlus Watch 2 might be the same devices marketed under different names for various regions.

The same device is also said to be heading to the Chinese market as well. The China variant of the device, which has the OWW231 model number, has already been approved by MIIT and 3C certification platforms in the country. These certifications have revealed that the smartwatch will support 4G LTE connectivity via eSIM. It is expected to launch in March in China with the OPPO Watch 4 branding.

For those who don’t OPPO is also offering the OPPO Watch 4 Pro with a square display in China (announced in August 2023).
