POCO is apparently working on a new budget smartphone model for the Indian market. But this isn’t just any phone with a light price tag, the company’s India head has hinted that this device will arrive as the most affordable 5G smartphone ever in the region.
Most Affordable 5G Phone from POCO
The news arrives from Himanshu Tandon, who is the head of POCO’s Indian arm. He recently shared a teaser that confirmed the “POCO X Airtel” partnership, which is coming soon. when another user on X (formerly Twitter) asked whether this is a new POCO Neo series or F6 series device, Tandon replied that it is not an Airtel version of an existing model. Rather, he stated that it will be the most affordable 5G phone to launch in India.
To recall, the Chinese brand had previously relaunched the POCO C51 model in a partnership with Airtel. This collaboration brought exclusive Airtel benefits, like special affordable plans for those that buy that model. But since this isn’t a simple rerelease, we have no idea which smartphone will carry the crown for the most affordable 5G phone.
