Xiaomi is reportedly preparing to officially launch its highly anticipated SU7 electric vehicle (EV) later this month, according to a March 6th report by arenaev.com, citing industry sources. This potential launch date aligns with the previously announced Q2 delivery timeframe for the vehicle, as confirmed by Xiaomi President Lu Weibing.

Xiaomi has also started building dedicated stores in China for car sales

The report further suggests that Xiaomi has begun construction of dedicated 2S stores across China, specifically designed for sales and service of their EVs. These stores, estimated to number around 60-70 initially, will be established in major Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities. This development is seen as a strong indicator that official pricing for the SU7 will be revealed soon.

Scheduled for deliveries starting in Q2 2024, the Xiaomi SU7 made its international debut at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Targeting the mid to high-end market with a speculated price range of 250,000-370,000 Yuan ($35,176 – $52,061), Xiaomi hopes to leverage its existing 20 million premium smartphone users in China to drive initial sales, while aiming for production to ramp up to 10,000 units per month by July.

It’s worth noting that a Zeekr executive unofficially mentioned a potential March 28th launch date last month, although Xiaomi has yet to officially confirm this information. Very recently, new colors for the SU7 were also spotted in a leak, have a look at them here.
