Creators looking to up their livestreaming game have a new option from Logitech, but it comes at a hefty price. The Mevo Core is a 4K livestreaming camera priced at a staggering $999, a threefold jump compared to Logitech’s previous 1080p Mevo Start model.

The Core offers significant improvements targeted at professional streamers. Unlike its predecessor, the 4K resolution allows for cropping and zooming without sacrificing video quality. It also boasts a larger 4/3 CMOS sensor for better low-light performance and depth of field.
However, unlike the Mevo Start package, the Core ships body-only. You’ll need to purchase a Micro Four Thirds (MFT) lens separately to get started, adding to the overall cost.
Despite the price tag, the Core boasts some compelling features. It includes a built-in three-microphone array with noise cancellation, addressing a common pain point with the previous model. WiFi 6E support promises smoother streaming with compatible routers, and a six-hour battery life offers decent portability. The camera also doubles as a wired or wireless HD webcam, providing extra utility.
For creators on a budget, the Mevo Start might still be a good option. But for those seeking top-notch 4K streaming capabilities, the Mevo Core offers a powerful solution, albeit at a premium price.
