Xiaomi has launched a new projector in China, called the Redmi Projector Lite. As the name suggests, it’s designed to be a more affordable option but feature-wise, it still delivers a great value. Let’s delve into its details here.

Redmi Projector Lite Specifications

As a budget-friendly choice, the Redmi Projector Lite focuses on delivering the essentials. It features a 1080p resolution and a throw ratio of 1.2:1, allowing for image projections of up to 100 inches in size.

While its 150 CVIA lumens brightness might not dazzle in well-lit rooms, Xiaomi says the projector offers clarity and color in content thanks to a sealed optical engine and a “super-transparent lens”.

The Redmi Projector Lite has also been certified by SGS for low blue light emissions, specifically filtering light within the 415nm-455nm range to help reduce eye strain. Xiaomi also claims a lifespan of 10 years for the machine.

Perhaps the most interesting feature of this projector is its ToF laser sensing module. This along with AI algorithms enables features like automatic picture correction, displacement adjustment, and autofocus at startup, says Xiaomi.

All this automation should make the setup notably less fussy, letting you get to movie night faster. The projector can also be used for side, oblique, and elevation projection, but do note that the automatic picture correction only works within a 15° angle.

For connectivity, the Redmi Projector Lite version includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, HDMI (ARC) port, USB 2.0 interface, and a DC IN power input.

Moreover, the projector can be controlled via the Mijia App and supports wireless screen projection from both computers and mobile devices. You can also pair your external audio devices via Bluetooth.

Price and Availability

The Redmi Projector Lite is currently available for purchase through Xiaomi’s Youpin platform and JD.com for a price of 699 yuan (~$96).
