Samsung debuted its One UI 6.1 as well as the Galaxy AI on the recently launched Galaxy S24 series smartphones. The brand promised to launch the Galaxy AI on older flagships in March, and it has kept that promise with new updates that are rolling out for the Galaxy S23 series smartphones as well as the Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and Tab S9 series.

Key AI features being rolled out are:

  • Chat Assist: This feature offers suggestions for improving grammar and phrasing while composing messages. It supports 13 different languages.
  • Circle to Search with Google: With this feature, you can circle an object or area on-screen to find more information.
  • Generative Edit: Users can remove unwanted elements from photos, reposition objects within images, and adjust perspectives for a more refined composition.
  • Instant Slow-Mo: This feature applies AI processing to convert standard videos into slow-motion footage.
  • Interpreter: Split-screen conversation mode assists in real-time communication between people who speak different languages.
  • Live Translate: Provides real-time translation for both voice calls and within supported messaging apps.
  • Note Assist: Summarizes text within the Samsung Notes app and can even apply certain formatting styles to the summary.
  • Transcript Assist: Works alongside the Samsung Voice Recorder app to transcribe audio and tag multiple speakers. It can also create summaries of these recordings.
  • Edit Suggestion: Offers personalized editing recommendations for photos.

The rollout of this update has already begun and will likely arrive on all eligible devices soon. If you haven’t received the OTA update notification yet, you can check for it manually by navigating to Settings > System updates > Check for system updates.
