iQOO, known for its high-performance smartphones, has just announced an upgrade for its latest devices. The company officially confirmed via Weibo that the iQOO 12 and iQOO Neo 9 series smartphones now support Wi-Fi 7 connectivity in China.

While the Chinese models will get this upgrade, there’s no word yet on whether global variants of these popular iQOO series will also gain Wi-Fi 7 support. We’ll have to await further announcements from iQOO to gain clarity on international availability.

Wi-Fi 7 delivers significantly faster speeds, reduced latency, and improved network capacity compared to older Wi-Fi standards. This translates to smoother online gaming, faster downloads, and more reliable connections in crowded environments.

iQOO 12 / Neo 9 Series Specifications

For those unfamiliar with the iQOO 12 and Neo 9 series, let’s recap their specifications. 

The iQOO 12 devices boast the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, iQOO’s custom e-sports chip Q1, and the Adreno 750 GPU. They run Android 14-based OriginOS 4 for a streamlined user experience. 

The iQOO 12 features a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display, while the 12 Pro offers a curved-edge screen. Both deliver high refresh rates and impressive resolution. Camera-wise, these phones sport versatile triple-camera setups with high-resolution main, ultrawide, and telephoto lenses.

The iQOO Neo 9 and Neo 9 Pro also deliver excellent displays, supporting HDR10+ and 144Hz refresh rates. They offer a choice of processors, with the Neo 9 powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and the Neo 9 Pro featuring the Dimensity 9300 chipset. A dedicated gaming chip further boosts these devices’ performance.
