Leaks have revealed that the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G may arrive with a starting price of Rs 26,999 (~$325). This means that the device will face competition from smartphones of different brands in the same price category. The specifications of the smartphone are no secret, as it is already available for purchase in some markets, like Brazil. Previously, it was thought that the M55 could be a rebranded or tweaked version of the Galaxy A55. However, it is quite different from the A55, which is priced at around Rs 40,000 (~$480) in India.

1. 120Hz AMOLED display
The Galaxy M55 mid-range phone flaunts a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ display flanked by slim bezels. The screen offers FHD+ resolution and 48Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate support.

2. Big battery with 45W fast charging
Last year, the Galaxy M54 came with a massive 6,000mAh battery that carried support for 25W fast charging. This time around, Samsung has reduced the battery size to 5,000mAh on the M55, but increased the fast-charging support to 45W.
According to the brand, the M55 can charge from 0 to 70 percent in just 30 minutes. However, like the recent Samsung, the M55 may not come with an in-box charger.

The Galaxy M55 will ship with One UI 6 based on Android 14. To recall, the Galaxy M54 model is eligible for four years of Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates.

4. Decent 4nm Snapdragon 7-series chip
The Galaxy M55 is powered by the 4nm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, which debuted in May 2022. The Honor 90 is the only other phone available in India equipped with the same chip.
The leaked prices of the M55 suggest that it will compete with the likes of Snapdragon 7s Gen 2-powered phones, such as the Redmi Note 13 Pro and the Realme 12 Pro+. For those who don’t know, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is quite similar to the older Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip.
In terms of performance, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 may work similarly to the SD7sGen2 if not slightly better. Additionally, reports suggest that the device will come equipped with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in storage.
5. Versatile camera setup
The M54 offered a 32-megapixel front camera and a 108-megapixel (OIS) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera unit.
The Galaxy M55, on the other hand, has an OIS-assisted 50-megapixel main camera and the same ultra-wide and macro cameras on the back. On the front, the M55 flaunts a 50-megapixel selfie camera, which means the phone will be good for people who prefer blogging and snapping selfies.
