Huawei has recently launched the Band 9 smart band, as well as the MateBook X Pro 2024 notebook in China. Along with these gadgets, the brand has also debuted the Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick 2 earbuds. These earbuds come with a lipstick-shaped charging case. However, it looks like the earbuds inside the case are the Huawei FreeBuds 5 (review).

The charging case can also be connected to a lanyard for convenient attachment to a bag. It measures 28.9 mm × 78.5 mm in size and weighs around 78 grams. Unlike typical earbuds with either a stem or no stem, the FreeBuds 5 boasts a waterdrop-shaped design that fits seamlessly into the ear.

These earbuds support advanced audio codecs like L2HC and LDAC, enabling high-resolution audio streaming. They also offer spatial audio on HarmonyOS 3 devices, Hybrid active noise cancellation, and dynamic EQ tuning. Huawei claims to utilize an innovative ear canal adaptive algorithm, which adjusts to the user’s ear shape for better noise reduction.
