HP has recently launched its thin and light EliteBook 635 Aero G11 notebook in Japan. This ‘ultra-portable’ laptop is equipped with either an AMD Ryzen 5 8640U or Ryzen 7 8840U CPU. The standout feature of this notebook is its appealing specifications, all packed within a 15.1mm body which weighs only 1kg. So let’s take a look at what this thin and lightweight machine has to offer.

Key specifications:

Opening the lead you will see a 13.3″ WUXGA (1920 x 1200) LCD display with 90% screen-to-body ratio. If you aren’t familiar with the ‘WUXGA’ abbreviation, it basically represents the 16:10 aspect ratio of the display. The display offers a maximum brightness of 400 nits and 100% sRGB color gamut rating. It comes equipped with the Windows 11 Pro.

There is a 5MP camera for video calls with a sliding privacy cover. Additionally, the lead also equips an infrared camera with Windows Hello support, which means you can unlock the machine even in dark situations.

Speaking of the internals, this laptop equips 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB M.2 SSD. The battery is rated for 1000 charge/discharge cycle. Unfortunately, the company didn’t reveal the battery size or charging capability of this laptop.

This laptop comes offers “Windows Studio Effect” that utilizes AMD Ryzen AI to improve the way you appear during web conferences. It can blur the background. Additionally, rather than looking at the camera, you look at the the screen during a call, which prevents a direct eye contact. This device can correct the line of your eyesight using AI.

Pricing and availability:

The EliteBook 635 Aero G11 is exclusive to Japan and the company may not launch this PC outside the country. It will be available starting April 26 and the price starts from 274,780 Yen (~$1800).

However, if you want a lightweight PC like this, and you live outside Japan, you can consider the Dell XPS 13 2024. It is powered by Intel’s latest Meteor Lake series processor, the Core Ultra 7, offers a high resolution OLED screen and weighs around 1.17kg to 1.19kg.
