Valve fans will finally get another reason to be extremely happy, if its not Half-Life 3. A leak has potentially revealed Valve’s next big competitive multiplayer game: Deadlock.

This game is aiming to create an impact similar to Counter-Strike or Dota, which is saying something

Shared by @PlayerIGN on Twitter (see video here), the leaked gameplay footage offers a glimpse into this 6v6 third-person shooter. According to well-known Valve enthusiast Tyler McVicker, hundreds of players are already testing Deadlock in a closed alpha phase, suggesting the game is well into development.

Valve Deadlock

McVicker positions Deadlock as Valve’s next major competitive title, aiming to be as impactful as Counter-Strike or Dota. He describes it as a hero-based, level-based shooter with a focus on individual skill, potentially incorporating elements that made Valve’s previous games successful. We also see glimpses of character customization, with the video featuring a selection screen boasting 19 playable heroes.

McVicker adds that Deadlock’s development began in 2018 and incorporates tower defense mechanics into a unique blend of fantasy and steampunk aesthetics.

While the leak provides a taste of what Deadlock might offer, it’s important to remember that the game is likely still in early stages. Stay tuned for official announcements from Valve to learn more about Deadlock and its potential release date.
