It hasn’t even been a month since Vivo launched their new X100 series smartphones, but rumors about Vivo’s next flagship line, the X200, are already making headlines.

Today, tipster Smart Pikachu revealed that the Vivo X200 series will be the first to debut with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset. Vivo was also the first to feature the Dimensity 9300 in the X100 and Pro models, as well as the new Dimensity 9300 Plus chip in the X100s and X100s Pro smartphones.

A rumor from last year suggested that Vivo would play a crucial role in developing the MediaTek Dimensity 9400. So it’s fitting that the upcoming Vivo X200 series will continue the tradition of launching the first phones with MediaTek’s flagship SoC.

Competing against the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, the Dimensity 9400 will feature ARM’s flagship Cortex-X5 core. Although the chip hasn’t yet appeared on benchmarking platforms, the Dimensity 9400 is said to have better IPC performance than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

Additionally, the tipster mentioned that there won’t be an S-series in the X200 phones, meaning there won’t be successors to the X100s and X100s Pro.

The tipster didn’t delve into other parameters of the phone, but a leak earlier this week revealed that Vivo X200 phones will be released in October. The Oppo Find X8, also rumored to use the Dimensity 9400, is expected to launch in the same month. Xiaomi will be their competitor that same month with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4-powered Xiaomi 15.
