The Xiaomi 15 is expected to be the first to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, but several other brands are also vying for this distinction. One of these is iQOO, which is rumored to feature the 8 Gen 4 in its upcoming iQOO 13 smartphone.

Today, tipster Digital Chat Station shared on Weibo that the iQOO 13’s engineering sample is currently being tested with a flat OLED 8T LTPO display with a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels or 1.5K.

As mentioned earlier, the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The leak further suggests a big battery for the device but didn’t reveal its exact size.

Another tipster Smart Pikachu previously revealed that the iQOO 13 will feature a 6000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. Its predecessor, iQOO 12 has a 5000mAh cell so that’s a good increase in battery capacity.

The iQOO 13 line will also include a Pro model which is said to feature a curved panel with a higher 2K resolution. It will likely share the same chip as the vanilla model but we are yet to get details on other aspects of the device.

Although there’s no specific mention of the launch timeframe for the iQOO 13 series in the leaks, it’s unlikely to debut before the expected release of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in October 2024. We will be sure to keep you in the loop on any new details about these smartphones.
