Samsung held its second Galaxy Unpacked event of the year today. As expected, the South Korean brand unveiled a host of new products including the sixth-generation Galaxy Z foldables, Watch Series 7, and the much-awaited Galaxy Ring. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 arrives as the successor to last year’s Z Fold 5. The latest offering packs incremental upgrades with a slightly tweaked design compared to its predecessor. Read on to know what it offers out of the box. 

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 specs 

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 comes with a boxier design and a pill-shaped camera island on the back panel. Dimensions-wise, the device measures 153.5mm x 68.1 x 12.1mm when folded and 153.5mm x 132.6mm x 5.6mm when unfolded. It weighs 239 grams compared to 253 grams on its predecessor. The foldable phone is IP68-certified dust and water-resistant. The South Korean brand says that the latest foldable phone is equipped with enhanced Armor Aluminium and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 making it the most durable Z-series device yet. 

In terms of display, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 features a 7.6-inch internal and a 6.3-inch external screen with dynamic AMOLED 2x panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The bear a resolution of 2160 x 1856 pixels whereas the latter will feature 2376 x 968 pixels respectively. The front also has a slightly taller aspect ratio surrounded by thin bezels.

On the photography front, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6’s triple rear camera setup comprises a 50MP f/1.8 main sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10MP telephoto unit with 3x zoom. The external screen has a 10MP selfie snapper whereas the internal display has an integrated 4MP sensor. The foldable phone is capable of recording up to 8K videos. The Z Fold 6 comes with features like Photo Assist, Portrait Studio, and Insta Slow-mo.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor clocked at 3.39GHz. It packs up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The graphics are supported by Ray Tracing. The device draws its power from a 4,400mAh battery unit with support for 25W charging. The foldable phone also features an upgraded cooling system for heat dissipation. Software-wise it ships with Android 14 and comes loaded with a host of Galaxy AI features like Note Assist, Sketch to Image, a fully integrated Gemini app, and more. Just like the S24 series, the Z Fold 6 is also eligible for 7 years of OS updates and security patches. 

Connectivity options on the device include USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, WiFi-6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, UWB, and more. 

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 pricing

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is up for pre-orders starting today with sales commencing from July 24. It comes in Silver Shadow, Pink, and Navy colors. The device starts at $1,899 for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The 12GB + 512GB and 12GB + 1TB RAM and storage configurations are priced at $2,019 and $2,259 respectively.
