The Honor 200 just launched in India as HTech’s latest mid range smartphone. Looking at the price it released, it competes with a bunch of other phones like the recently announced Oppo Reno 12 Pro. So which one is better? Here’s a quick comparison based on their specs and features.

1. Snapdragon vs Dimensity mid-range chips

One of the biggest difference between the two devices are the processors that the Chinese brands equipped on their respective offerings. The Honor 200 launched with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, which is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

On the other hand, the Reno 12 Pro packs the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Energy that comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage as well. The two chips offer similar performance, so you won’t notice much of a difference in everyday use. However, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is better for mobile gaming.

2. Honor 200 with a bigger battery, Charges faster too

The highly anticipated Reno 12 Pro is a part of Oppo’s popular Reno series. It packs a respectable 5,000mAh battery pack that supports 80W wired fast charging. The company promises to charge the device to 47 percent in just 18 minutes.

Meanwhile, HTech released the Honor 200 with a slightly larger 5,200mAh cell. This model supports faster 100W wired fast charging and 5W reverse wired charging support as well. The faster charging rate let’s you hit 57 percent charge in just 15 minutes.

3. Competitive Cameras & Displays

Both smartphones feature a triple camera setup on the rear. The primary sensor is a 50-megapixel sensor and a 50-megapixel telephoto shooter on the duo. Although, the Honor 200 offers 2.5x optical zoom compared to the Reno 12 Pro’s 2x optical zoom. The third and final camera is the ultra wide angle lens, which has a 12-megapixel resolution on the Honor phone and an 8-megapixel resolution of the Oppo device. For selfies and video calls, these phones have a 50-megapixel shooter.

These similar specs are also reflected on the front as well. The two mid range smartphones 6.7-inch OLED display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution, and HDR support. Honor’s handset offers a 4,000 nits of peak brightness, which is much higher than the 1200 nits on the Reno 12 Pro. Oppo does have an edge in endurance thanks to the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It is also rated with IP65 for water and dust resistance.

4. Pricing

The Honor 200 was just released in India for a starting price tag of 34,999 INR for the 8GB + 256GB option. But for 32,999 INR, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro is more affordable for an identical starting storage configuration. However, the pricing for both models seem reasonable for the specs and features that are offered.

Oppo’s Reno 12 Pro offers capable specs and features, but one of its highlighting aspects is undoubtedly the use of AI powered software features like the AI Eraser 2.0, AI Clear Face, and more. The Honor 200 has an edge on the hardware front. You get better gaming performance, bigger battery, and more. So depending on how you use the device, you won’t go wrong with either of these phones.
