Samsung is reportedly working on a successor to its Galaxy A15 lineup. The South Korean tech giant’s upcoming smartphone, tentatively dubbed the Galaxy A16, has made an appearance in the database of UK carrier EE.

The listing reveals multiple model numbers associated with the device, likely for the different variants of the device. These include:
SM-A1660: Galaxy A16 5G DUOS
SM-A166U: Galaxy A16 5G
SM-A166M: Galaxy A16 5G
SM-A166B: Galaxy A16 5G DUOS
SM-A166E: Galaxy A16 5G DUOS
SM-A166M: Galaxy A16 5G DUOS
SM-A166P: Galaxy A16 5G DUOS
SM-A165F DSB: Galaxy A16 DUOS
SM-A165F: Galaxy A16 DUOS

While specifics are scarce at this stage, the “DUOS” suffix in some model numbers indicates dual SIM capability. The Galaxy A16 name without the 5G tag are believed to be the 4G model.

It’s worth noting that a separate listing for the model number SM-A165F has been also spotted on the IMEI database, but it doesn’t reveal anything about its specifications.

However, we now know that Samsung is working on both 4G and 5G model for the Galaxy A16 like its predecessor.

While details about the Galaxy A16 are currently limited, it’s reasonable to speculate based on its predecessor. The Galaxy A15 featured a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate.

Powering the device were either the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset for the 5G model or the Helio G99 for the 4G variant. Key camera specifications included a 50MP primary sensor, and the battery capacity was set at 5000mAh with 25W charging support.

It’s plausible that the Galaxy A16 series will build upon this foundation, introducing refinements or upgrades to various components. However, concrete information regarding the new models remains elusive at this point.

Samsung has yet to officially acknowledge the existence of the Galaxy A16. Further details about the device’s specifications, release date, and pricing are expected to emerge in the coming months.
