The Mijia Body Fat Scale S400 Pro is now available for pre-order in Xiaomi Youpin for a price tag of 179 Yuan (~$25). According to the platform, the shipping may start from September 18. Alongside body fat percentage, it measures different aspects such as weight, heart rate, body water content, protein content, visceral fat level, muscle mass, etc.

The S400 Pro uses ITO-coated tempered glass to replace the traditional electrode sheet design and the weight-measurable area is expanded from local to almost the entire scale surface. For those unfamiliar, ITO-coated tempered glass is also widely used in liquid crystal displays, solar cells, and optoelectronics among other use cases.
There are now fewer restrictions on how to step on the scale, which also supports a maximum size of 48 European size.
One of the biggest upgrades in the S400 Pro is the 3.5″ color screen as compared to the Mijia Body Fat Scale S400. According to the company, the screen offers a higher brightness and contrast as compared to traditional LED screens. The screen also offers guidance to help users stand correctly during the operation.
This product supports connectivity with the Xiaomi Home app and lets users customize different settings including the brightness of the screen conveniently from the app. Additionally, users can access health data at any time, track body changes, and receive guidance for healthy weight loss.
The S400 Pro uses 50kHz and 250kHz high and low dual-frequency bioimpedance measurement technology to measure the impedance values of intracellular and extracellular fluids respectively and accurately detect relevant data such as fat mass, body fat percentage, etc. Reportedly, the correlation between its measured data and the gold standard DEXA is greater than 93%.
The Mijia Body Fat Scale S400 Pro is powered by 4 AA batteries which reportedly offer a battery life of 150 days if used three times a day. While the device is currently available for pre-order for a price tag of 179 Yuan (~$25), the retail pricing will be 249 Yuan (~$35).
