Nothing has officially released the Nothing OS 2.6 update for Nothing Phone (1) users. This update was earlier released for the Phone (2) and the Phone (2a), and brings the latest September 2024 Android security patch, along with new features, improvements, and bug fixes. New Features

  • Swipe down incoming notifications to enter pop-up view. For easy access to information without having to leave an app. Turn on via Settings>System>Pop-up view.
  • Enable vibration for third party apps during calls. Turn on via Settings>Sound and vibration> Vibration.
  • Battery And Pedometer Widgets can now be displayed on the lock screen and Always On Display

Bug Fixes And Improvements

  • Enhanced NFC stability for more reliable connections.
  • Improved the speed of the Bluetooth tile toggle in Quick settings.
  • Ensured Bluetooth tile reflects correct earbud information.
  • Fixed an issue where certain carriers were unable to send multimedia messages and failed to register for VoWiFi.
  • Resolved an issue where the flashlight tile was missing in Quick Settings.
  • Resolved the problem causing some cloned apps to auto-rotate despite being disabled.
  • Fixed an issue where the Media Player Widget could not play music when switching from guest to main user.

The Nothing OS 2.6 update is being rolled out gradually, so it may take a few days to reach your device. To check for availability, go to Settings > System > System Update.

In related news, the Nothing OS 3.0, based on Android 15, is set to launch in September 2024. Key features include revamped Quick Settings, enhanced lock screen customization, improved fingerprint unlock, gesture navigation, app archiving, and predictive back animations.
