Samsung just recently expanded its premium tablet series with the Galaxy Tab S10 series. These new models features top notch specs and features. But how do they compare to its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra? Is it an actual upgrade or simply a minor refresh? Read on to find out.

1. Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra vs Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra: Snapdragon or Dimensity
The South Korean tech giant’s latest tablet lineup consists of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and the Galaxy Tab S10+. The former is the higher end model. Unlike its predecessor, Samsung is moving away from Qualcomm for its chipset. The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoC, which is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. On the other hand, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. You also get up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage.
2. Premium tablet with Galaxy AI
One of the biggest features launching with the Galaxy Tab S10 series is the new Galaxy AI. This is a suite of AI powered features. Galaxy AI has been a major talking point for recent high end Galaxy devices and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is no exception. Even the Book Cover keyboard for the tablets feature a new Galaxy AI Key.
To recall, the Galaxy AI includes various features like Sketch to Image, Circle to Search, Air Command with AI (on the Galaxy S Pen), and more. It also acts as a home AI device with a 3D Map view that givers a visual overview of their home. Thanks to SmartThings ecosystem, you also get help with device management for all connected devices.
3. Everything that’s not changed
Apart from this, there aren’t major changes between the two tablets. Both models are powered by a massive 11,200mAh battery pack, which supports 45W wired fast charging. The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra sport a tall 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 16:10 aspect ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass for protection, and 2960 x 1848 resolution.
Even in terms of optics, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra retains the 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear along with an 8-megapixel ultra wide angle lens. Meanwhile, the front houses a 12-megapixel dual camera setup for selfies and video calls. Other notable features include under-display optical fingerprint scanner, Wireless Samsung DeX, and quad speaker setup with AKG tuning.
4. Pricing and Verdict
Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra for the same price tag as the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. So taking all of this into consideration, it seems like the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is just a minor refresh. There are notable upgrades but you’re not missing out on anything if you already have the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. If you don’t wish to spend top dollar, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is a more affordable and better pick. However, the Tab S10 Ultra is better in terms of overall performance, up to date software, and Galaxy AI.
