Samsung‘s upcoming Galaxy A56 has been revealed through CAD-based renders, showcasing a bold new design for the A5x series. While still unmistakably a Samsung device, the renders highlight a significant departure from its predecessor, the Galaxy A55, especially in the camera design.
A fresh look for the Galaxy A56
The most striking change is the redesigned camera island. Unlike the individual mini-islands seen in previous A-series models, the Galaxy A56 opts for a larger, black, pill-shaped module that houses all three cameras. This change not only provides a distinct look but also adds a notable camera bump, which appears more prominent compared to the Galaxy A55.
Additionally, the bottom bezel seems slightly slimmer, contributing to a more refined appearance. Another key design update is the “Key Island,” the raised middle frame portion containing the power button and volume rocker, which now features a flatter aesthetic. Overall, the Galaxy A56 seems to be stepping away from the typical A-series design language, embracing a bolder identity that sets it apart from Samsung’s premium S-series phones.
This move appears intentional, as its A-series devices resemble its flagship lineup too closely. If recent Galaxy S25 leaks prove accurate, the S-series will retain the individual camera module design, further emphasizing the differentiation between the mid-range and premium categories.

What else to expect from the Galaxy A56?
Beyond its revamped look, the Galaxy A56 is shaping up to be a solid mid-range contender with several notable upgrades. According to earlier leaks, the phone will feature a 12MP selfie camera, reportedly with improved performance over its predecessor. It will also support 45W wired charging, a significant upgrade from the 25W charging found in most A-series models, ensuring faster recharges.
Under the hood, the Galaxy A56 is rumored to debut with the Exynos 1580 chipset, delivering performance comparable to the flagship Snapdragon 888 that powered the Galaxy S21 Ultra. This is supported by Geekbench results, which show competitive scores for the new SoC.
The Galaxy A56 is expected to launch in March 2025, following the A55’s release cycle. With its revamped design, enhanced hardware, and promising specifications, Samsung seems intent on making the Galaxy A56 a standout device in its segment.
