Casio has officially launched the MTG-B2000YST1 in the US, adding to its lineup of durable and stylish G-Shock watches. This new model is part of the MT-G series and features a special Storm Chaser aesthetic, achieved by a rainbow ion-plated bezel that shifts colors, reminiscent of a stormy atmosphere.

The bezel combines blue and silver IP finishes and is made from layered carbon and glass fiber, with a pattern resembling lightning streaks. A phosphorescent layer glows in the dark, simulating lightning flashes. The resin band, with mixed dark tones, is designed to reflect the colors of supercell clouds and turbulent weather.

The MTG-B2000YST1 is built for durability with a multi-layered carbon frame and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. It is water-resistant up to 200 meters, making it suitable for a range of activities. Despite its sturdy build, the watch is lightweight at 104 grams.

The watch is powered by solar energy, reducing the need for regular battery replacements. Bluetooth connectivity allows it to sync with the CASIO WATCHES app for features such as automatic time adjustment and world time display. It also includes a countdown timer, a 24-hour stopwatch, and a battery level indicator.

Pricing & availability

The watch has a price tag of $1,450 in the US. It was previously launched in the UK for £1,299 (about $1,670).

In related news, Casio is set to release its Shiba Inu-inspired G-Shock watch collection in the U.S. this November, following its successful launch in Japan in September. The collection pays tribute to the Shiba Inu breed, known for its loyalty and distinctive look.
