HMD has just unveiled a new smartphone in a select few regions. The company’s latest device is the HMD Key with the Android 14 (Go Edition) and entry level specs to match the budget pricing. So here’s everything you need to know.

The HMD Key sports a 6.52-inch LCD display with an HD+ resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and 460 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, it is equipped with the UNISOC SC9832E SoC, which is paired with Mali 820MP1 GPU. This processor arrives with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Buyers can also expand the story by up to 128GB via a microSD card slot. One can even bump up the RAM up to 2GB via virtual RAM expansion.

A 4,000mAh battery pack powers this device, which supports standard 10W charging. This model runs on the Android 14 Go Edition that is a lighter version of the regular Android operating system. For photography, the rear packs an 8MP camera with auto focus and LED flash, while the front has a 5MP shooter for selfies and video calls. You get access to Portrait, Night, and Pro mode, Slow Motion, and more. Other notable features include face unlock, a 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, and Dual SIM support.

Pricing and Availability

The HMD Key was announced in two color options, namely Icy Blue and Midnight Black. It has a 59 GBP price tag (roughly 73 US Dollars). This model is currently selling in the UK, New Zealand, and Australia. This model arrives just weeks after the HMD Arc, which is another affordable no-frills smartphone. The Blue Topaz edition of the HMD Skyline was also recently unveiled.
