The gaming world is buzzing with new rumors about Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), as a leaked release date and a potential $100 price tag have sparked discussion among fans. While Rockstar Games has not shared any new details since its first trailer in December 2023, a recent online store listing and industry analysis have added fuel to the speculation.

Possible Release Date Leak
A Spanish online store, XUruguay, recently listed GTA 6 with a specific release date: September 17, 2025. This date is significant because it marks 12 years since the launch of Grand Theft Auto V and lines up with Rockstar’s previously announced “fall 2025” release window. However, the date was quickly removed from the store’s listing, leaving fans unsure whether it was accurate or a mistake.

According to gaming news outlet 80 Level, XUruguay claimed to have a connection with PlayStation, which raised further speculation about the leak’s credibility. It’s unclear whether this date was based on actual insider knowledge or simply an estimate, as Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, have not confirmed any details.

Could GTA 6 Cost $100?
Another major point of discussion is the possible price increase for GTA 6. Industry analyst Matthew Ball recently suggested in his “State of Video Gaming in 2025” report that the standard edition of GTA 6 could cost $100.
He argues that due to the game’s massive popularity, Take-Two Interactive may use this opportunity to introduce a higher price for AAA games. The industry has already seen price increases in recent years—when next-generation consoles launched in 2020, many publishers raised game prices from $60 to $70. A jump to $100, however, would be a much bigger leap.
