Except for ZTE, no other brand offers an under-display camera on its smartphones, such as the Axon 60 Ultra and Red Magic 10 Pro series. However, the feature may see wider adoption on phones from other brands next year. The reason behind this is that the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to come equipped with an under-display camera. If Samsung adopts it, at least “Ultra”-branded phones from competing brands may also follow suit.
Galaxy S26 Ultra prototype with under-display camera

The Galaxy Z Fold 3, which debuted in 2021, was Samsung’s first foldable to feature an under-display camera tucked under its internal display. Since then, this technology has been inherited by the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Fold 5, and Fold 6. Now that the brand has expertise in this area, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, arriving next year, could be the company’s first regular flagship phone to feature an under-display camera.

According to a tipster, a Galaxy S26 Ultra display prototype is equipped with an under-display camera. With no selfie camera punch-hole on the screen, the S26 Ultra is expected to offer an amazing full-screen experience. Shown above is a modified image of the S25 Ultra, created using an image editing tool, to give an idea of how the S26 Ultra might appear.

The quality of selfies captured using the Galaxy Z Fold’s under-display camera leaves much to be desired. However, given that the Galaxy Ultra series is Samsung’s flagship offering, the S26 Ultra is likely to deliver a stellar selfie photography experience.
Readers should note the Galaxy S26 Ultra is said to be in the early prototype stage now. Therefore, it is likely that the under-display may not appear in the final product. Therefore, it is advisable to wait for further reports to get a better idea.
Other reports surrounding the Galaxy S26 Ultra have claimed that Samsung may rename it as the Galaxy S26 Note. It may come with many upgrades, such as a brighter display, a larger battery with 65W fast charging, Snapdragon and Exynos chip options, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.
