Samsung announced its “New Galaxy AI Subscription Club” just after the launch of the Galaxy S25 series, aiming to revolutionize how people purchase phones. It essentially lets you upgrade to the latest flagship without having to pay the full amount at once and sell it back to Samsung next year when the successor arrives. All of it is paired with additional perks.

“New Galaxy AI Subscription Club” proves to be a success
Now, here’s the result: 30% of the unlocked device buyers is the official Samsung website subscribed to the program, as reported by Sammy Fans. 60% of the subscribers are in their 20s and 30s. Not to mention the demographic is more open to a subscription model and tends to upgrade their devices more often.
As per the additional benefits, the subscription plan offers a 50% residual value guarantee given the user returns their Galaxy S25 after 12 months of purchase. This credit can be used to purchase the next Galaxy S-series device, essentially offering the new phone at half price. For those who return the device after 24 months, Samsung will offer up to 40% of the listed price of the device as a credit.
The reduction in upfront cost paired with these additional perks is making the deal more appealing than the conventional one-time payment option.

As for the hardware though, there’s not much new this year aside from slight tweaks in the external design. While most of the internal components and their placement remain the same as last year’s models, the company did spend the time to make some internal restructuring—for example, the old S Pen with Bluetooth support almost fits inside this year’s model, but it doesn’t lock into place.
When it comes to software, the Galaxy S25 series boasts some of the most advanced AI features available on smartphones—such as the object eraser. However, Samsung has hinted that these features may become part of a subscription plan starting next year.
