Google‘s next budget Pixel phone could be right around the corner. The Pixel 9a has already made the rounds online but the latest leak has confirmed its launch date for both the global and Indian markets. So here is everything we know.
Google Pixel 9a launch set for March 19
The news arrives from known tipster Yogesh Brar who shared the information on X (formerly Twitter). He claimed that the search engine giant’s Pixel 9a model could be globally launching within the next two weeks. The Google Pixel 9a is reportedly set to make its global debut on 19th March 2025. Meanwhile, the Indian release is set for a day later on March 20. If this is true, the Pixel 9a’s release is arriving much earlier than its predecessor, the Pixel 8a. To recall, that model was released globally in the month of May.

Apart from this, the leak from Yogesh revealed some disappointing news. While the “Pixel a” series is known for being upper mid range phones that have some top tier specs with cut corners, these are still typically quite expensive. A great example is near iPhone 16e levels of pricing. So it is disappointing when the tipster claims that there is “another year of exorbitant pricing”.
At the moment, it is unclear if it is for both the global and Indian markets. But even the A series has typically been quite expensive in India. Keep in mind that this is still just an unconfirmed report so take this news with a pinch of salt. For those interested, you can check out 5 major upgrades that it offers over the predecessor.
