The device, model XMDJJA01FY, targets amateur radio users with a compact 163 × 55 × 32mm design (including antenna) and a lightweight 136.6g build. It operates on the 430–440MHz UHF amateur band, leveraging 3W transmit power for 1–5km range and coverage up to 10,000㎡ in dense environments like shopping malls, functioning without cellular networks.

Key features include a 2000mAh battery that supports 10 hours of continuous use and 120 hours of standby, charged via a multifunction Type-C port (5V/1A input) that doubles as a headphone jack. The walkie-talkie features 16-channel synchronization, enabling rapid frequency matching across multiple devices, and supports “air-to-air” copying to clone settings wirelessly.

Users can program frequencies or adjust settings through the Xiaomi Intercom App or Mijia App plug-in, supplemented by physical knobs, buttons, and voice feedback for on-device controls. The PC+ABS plastic body adds durability and grip, rated for -10°C to 50°C operation and 5°C–40°C charging.

In related news, Xiaomi has launched the Mijia High-Speed Water Ion Hair Dryer in China for 379 yuan ($52). It features dual-needle nano water ion technology for deep hydration, an ultra-fast 110,000 RPM motor for quick drying, and an intelligent system maintaining a steady 57°C to prevent heat damage.
