The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is a high-end chipset from Qualcomm, announced in December 2021. It features eight CPU cores with a clock speed of up to 3GHz and an Adreno 730 GPU that can smoothly run high-end games.
Built on a 4nm process, this Qualcomm chip promises significant improvements in performance, power efficiency, and AI capabilities. It already powers many premium smartphones from brands like Xiaomi, Samsung, OnePlus, and Vivo. Here, we take a closer look at the AnTuTu and Geekbench scores of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 to better understand its real-world performance. These numbers will help you understand how this chip stacks up against the competition.
[Note: The following benchmark tests were conducted on the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.]
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 AnTuTu score
AnTuTu is a popular benchmarking tool that evaluates a device’s performance by running a series of tests across multiple components, including CPU, GPU, memory, and UX (user experience). The overall score represents the combined strength of these individual tests.
On AnTuTu (v10), the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered Galaxy S22 Ultra achieved over 1.12 million points. As for the breakdown, the CPU scored 289,636 points, the GPU scored 409,725 points, the memory scored 202,994 points, and the UX received 221,402 points.
| AnTuTu score | 1,123,750 |
| CPU | 289,636 |
| GPU | 409,725 |
| Memory | 202,994 |
| UX | 221,402 |
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Geekbench score
Geekbench is a widely used benchmarking tool for measuring the CPU capability of a device. It performs real-world and synthetic tests, such as image processing, machine learning, and file compression, to assess how well a processor handles various workloads.
The benchmarking platform outputs single-core and multi-core scores. The former tells how well a processor performs when using only one core, while the latter represents the performance when all cores work together.
On Geekbench (v6), the Galaxy S22 Ultra, powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, scored 1,713 single-core points and 3,933 multi-core points.

| Single core | 1,713 |
| Multi core | 3,933 |
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 3DMark score
We also tested the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 using 3DMark Wild Life Stress Test, which measures how well a device performs under prolonged heavy graphical workloads. It evaluates thermal stability, throttling behavior, and overall performance consistency by running a series of intensive graphics tests over an extended period.
In the Wild Life Stress Test, the Galaxy S22 Ultra had the best loop score of 9,056 and the worst loop score of 4,349, with a stability of around 48%.
| Wild Life Stress Test | |
| Best loop score | 9,056 |
| Lowest loop score | 4,349 |
| Stability | 48% |
