Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9 is already shaping up to be one of the brand’s most exciting in years — and not just because of the slim Z Fold7. A cheeky new teaser has sparked speculation that Samsung could finally show off a long-rumored tri-fold device.

The event will see the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and likely a more affordable Z Flip7 FE. Also on the docket: the Galaxy Watch 8 series. But it’s the teaser — filled with food puns, flashy visuals, and layered messaging — that has fans reading between the lines.
According to leaker Setsuna Digital (via Weibo), Samsung may preview its long-rumored tri-fold phone at the event, though a full launch isn’t expected until October — similar to the Galaxy S25 Edge’s staggered reveal earlier this year. If true, it could be the Galaxy G Fold, a device Samsung has shown off at trade shows like CES but never brought to market.
The tri-fold could sport a titanium frame and new silicon-carbon battery tech — and may cost over $3,000, putting it head-to-head with devices like Huawei’s Mate X Ultimate.
As for the confirmed foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite ‘for Galaxy’ chip, a 200MP main camera, and one of the slimmest middle frames of any book-style foldable yet. The Z Flip7, on the other hand, could switch to Samsung’s own Exynos 2500 chip in most regions and feature a larger 4.1-inch cover screen. Pre-orders are likely to open shortly after the event, with shipping expected in August.
Samsung is also expected to announce enhanced Galaxy AI features during the event, with tools like “Selfie Studio” possibly baked into One UI 8.0.
With all signs pointing to a foldable-heavy event — and a possible look at Samsung’s next big leap in smartphone design — Unpacked 2025 might just live up to its name.
