Huawei could be planning on stealing Apple’s thunder for its first foldable iPhone. A new rumor suggests that the next-gen tri-folding Mate XTs model may launch in the same week as the iPhone 17 series, and even upstage the upcoming iPhone Fold in this one area. So read on to find out.

Huawei Mate XTs Outpricing the iPhone Fold?

So far, we’ve seen rumors of the Chinese tech giant’s Mate XT 2 phone. However, the latest reports and leaks from China (Via NotebookCheck) suggest that the next tri-folding model is the Mate XTs. This sounds similar to Mate Xs in the past. Huawei is reportedly planning to unveil this model on September 12 in China. In other words, it is arriving during the same week as the Apple iPhone 17 series.

Samsung is also expected to be working on a tri-folding Galaxy Z phone, while Apple’s first ever foldable iPhone may debut sometime next year. But despite being a seasoned player in the foldable segment, its new Mate XTs could outpace the iPhone Fold in the pricing department. The Cupertino based giant’s first foldable may launch for around 15,999 Yuan or about 2,225 US Dollars. However, the Mate XTs tri-folding phone may hit the shelves for about 20,000 Yuan (roughly 2,780 US Dollars).

At this price point, it is a true ultra premium smartphone that would likely interest enthusiasts with a lot of disposable income. There are also rumors of a tougher UFG glass and satellite connectivity as well.
