MediaTek is reportedly working on the Dimensity 9500 chipset, which will power the next-generation flagship phones arriving later this year. A new leak has shed light on MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9500 chipset. As per a new leak, the next-generation flagship chip could deliver notable performance and efficiency upgrades, with a particular focus on gaming enhancements.

Dimensity 9500: Significant GPU and ray tracing improvements expected

According to reliable tipster Ice Universe, the forthcoming Dimensity 9500 will bring a significant leap in GPU performance, with efficiency improving by more than 40 percent compared to its predecessor. Peak performance is also expected to be notably stronger, while ray tracing capabilities could see a similar 40 percent boost.

Most strikingly, the leak suggests that smartphones powered by this chip may finally push ray-traced graphics beyond 100 frames per second, delivering a much smoother and more immersive gaming experience. According to the tipster, MediaTek appears to have fully unlocked the potential of Arm’s latest Drage GPU architecture, making the Dimensity 9500 a highly anticipated upgrade for mobile gaming.

As per reports, the Dimensity 9500 will be equipped with the all-big-core CPU configuration, including one Cortex-X930 ultra core, three Cortex-X9 series cores, and four A7 series cores, supported by 16MB of L3 cache and 10MB of system-level cache.

Built on TSMC’s third-generation 3nm N3P process, the chip could also introduce updated AI processing, with GPU compute performance reportedly reaching 100 TOPS for enhanced AI-driven tasks. Geekbench 6 scores may exceed 3,900 in single-core and 11,000 in multi-core performance, indicating gains of up to 34.5 percent and 19.6 percent, respectively, over the Dimensity 9400.

The Dimensity 9500 is expected to debut in September. Speculations are rife that the Vivo X300 series will be the first to feature it followed by the Oppo Find X9 lineup.
