Unboxing & Design

The box is simple and classy. In the box, there is the pad, a charger and an A-C cable. Underneath the pad, there is a SIM card pin, and some papers. So here you should know it supports 5G network, which enables you to use it anywhere.

The color we received is this black, there is also a green one I think. Like some previous tablets we reviewed, it is a somewhat unibody build. I mean the bottom half is made of metal, and the other half is plastic. The good thing is that the color and structure remain consistent, so it still looks fine. On the front, you will be glad to see that the bezels are equal on all four sides, so the screen is better looking also. On the sides, there are the buttons, speakers, and the SIM card slot, which also support an extra SD card.

Display

The tablet has a 12-inch display, the resolution is 2.4k. Overall it is a good display, the resolution is high enough to go through any pixel peeping. When watching some videos, the colors are vibrant. DOOGEE did not disclose the brightness, after comparing to some other tablets, I am guessing it is about 500nits on this one.

The aspect ratio is 5:3, and the bezel they say is 7mm, It’s good for watching content or office work. We have a slightly bigger tablet, 12.6 inches, when showing an Excel, the DOOGEE V Pad can show even slightly more columns, although the rows are two fewer. When watching content, it also managed to show less trim up and down, both for the bigger tablet and the slightly smaller one. So you know this tablet is better for productivity.

The display also support eye protection, there are three modes for displaying content, whether you pretty cooler tone, or warm tone. The refresh rate is 90Hz, it is very fluid swiping through every page, and the gesture controls are also very smooth.

Performance

The DOOGEE V Pad comes with Mediatek D7050 chip, made by 6nm process, LPDDR5 and 5G support. The one we have here is 8GB+256GB, and it can take an extra 12GB of virtual RAM from the storage. You will be happy to see there is an SD card slot here, to expand the storage up to 2TB, not many tablets are offering this right now.

So performance-wise, it is not going to blow the roof off, but rather be good enough for daily tasks. Since we did not receive the keyboard combo, we tried to pair it with a keyboard, the experience is still good. It can support a stylus, highly recommend you get the combo from DOOGEE, that way you can get the best user experience.

Battery

The battery capacity is 8800mAh, with 18W max charging power. For a 30-minute video play, it takes 11% of battery, and a 30mins of office work, it takes about 8%. so it’s safe to say this tablet can last more than a day without any problem. And it supports reverse charging, it can charge some small devices like your earbuds.

Daily Experience

In terms of some user experience, since it has Wi-Fi 6 support, downloading stuff or watching content is pleasant, there won’t be any stutter doing those things; And there are 4 speakers in total, placed at both sides, it claims to output 120dB of sound, which is really loud actually; The camera setup is a 13MP at the back, and 8MP at the front. There is also flash for the rear camera. Again these are practical for everyday use, like video conferencing, taking virtual classes and stuff; The tablet is fairly thin and light, it is 572g in weight, and 7.9mm thick. At this size, it maintained a good balance. Lastly, it comes with Android 15, and a clean and smooth operation is guaranteed.

Verdict

To sum up, the DOOGEE V Pad is a solid tablet for productivity and entertainment. 12 inches is sort of the sweet spot, not too big, not too small. And the 5:3 aspect ratio just made it the machine for office stuff, or watching some content. To support all these, there is a big battery support, and 4 speakers. For such a tablet that is just about $300, I’d say it is a very good value. Now it has just started to sell, you can get more info from the link in this review.
