JBL has officially launched the Boombox 4 outdoor Bluetooth speaker in China. The new model is priced at 3999 yuan ($557) and is now available in black, blue, and camouflage color options. The speaker features a redesigned body that is 12% lighter than the Boombox 3 and includes an integrated handle for easier carrying.

The Boombox 4 features a 7-driver speaker system that consists of dual 5-inch woofers, dual 0.75-inch tweeters, and three passive radiators. The speaker delivers 210W RMS output when plugged in and 180W when running on battery.
JBL has included a new AI Sound Boost algorithm that analyzes audio in real time and adjusts output for more dynamic and balanced sound. The speaker also supports a two-level Bass Boost mode, which allows users to enhance the low-end response using a dedicated button.
JBL has enhanced connectivity with support for Bluetooth 5.4 and Auracast. This allows users to wirelessly pair multiple compatible JBL speakers for an expanded stereo experience. The speakers also support simultaneous connection with two Bluetooth devices, enabling quick switching between playback sources without needing to disconnect and reconnect.
In addition to Bluetooth streaming, the Boombox 4 supports USB-C lossless audio playback. JBL has included a high-quality DAC that allows users to play high-resolution audio directly from a PC or other digital device.
The speaker includes USB-C and AC ports and supports fast charging. The internal 99Wh battery provides up to 28 hours of playback, which can be extended to 34 hours with Playtime Boost mode.
It also functions as a 30W power bank, capable of charging other devices via 20V/1.5A PPS output. The speaker measures 506.4 x 262.9 x 212.9 mm and weighs 5.89 kg. JBL has also rated the device IP68 for dust and water resistance.
